Gwynedd Cannabis Club is in contact with Plaid Cymru in regards to the decriminalisation of cannabis for medicinal use and to free up police time. Leanne Wood (plaid Cymru Leader) said to Gwynedd Cannabis Club,
“In a political perspective it’s important to recognise the ‘public fear factor’. Those who do not differentiate between different substances can become very fearful of the potential consequences of legalising or decriminalising any drugs. Its illegality makes it more scary for people. I have learned in politics that you have to work with people where they are and not where we might want them to be.”
