Let’s face it, we’ve all had the idea – get loads of cannabis seeds and just plant them everywhere we can – spread the love and share what we can of this beautiful plant with our community. Well now a few groups have done just that.
A group calling themselves ‘A Few Autonomous Flower Children’ are claiming to have planted thousands of cannabis plants all over the German city of Göttingen. The group, who are based in the small University Town, have planted the glorious little green friends in parks, window sills and just generally all over the city.
A spokesman for the group is quoted as saying: “We can’t set eyes on this useful and beautiful plant, because it is absolutely forbidden in Germany to grow it” which is a feeling that we can relate to here in the UK – Cannabis is a beautiful plant with an aroma that could bring you to your knees but unfortunately unless you are willing to break the law and grow your own you are very unlikely to come across this gorgeous plant much at this time in the UK.
The spokesman went on to say: “It is incomprehensible why cannabis, unlike alcohol, cannot be legally purchased. The ban on the cultivation of cannabis seeds is absurdly strict and our actions are a sign against the demonization of cannabis. “
These are all feelings that cannabis consumers in the UK can surely relate to – Some more so than others as within days of the Göttingen story hitting the news over 20 cannabis plants were found planted around Newport, once again fitting the small cannabis plants in plant pots throughout the City centre in full few of the public. Dean Beddis, a local businessman in the Newport area, discovered the plants and, once he had figured out what they were, did not recoil in shock at the hideous crime that had been committed but instead is quoted as saying “I had never seen cannabis growing in the wild before so it was crazy to see it. It’s actually rather a beautiful plant and stood out wonderfully. But they have gone now. I don’t know who took them.”
Now as is to be expected in the UK the Police and other authorities were not too happy about this stunt. But it seems that some good organisation went into this plan, as Gwent Police have hit a little snag in their efforts to prosecute –
“Now that the plants have apparently disappeared it’s difficult to determine whether they were in fact illegal cannabis plants or not and, if so, whether they had been deliberately planted for cultivation,” said a spokesperson.
But unfortunately as the planting/cultivation of cannabis seeds is illegal in both Germany and the United Kingdom, both groups do face the possibility of prosecution.
But remember birds always need feeding and one of the most nutritional seeds for both birds and humans is the hemp seed – Feed your birds hemp seed and let’s turn Wales and the rest of the United Kingdom into the green, green lands.
