I ordered my seeds online at http://www.cannabis-seeds.co.uk/ and received them in a discreet brown envelope 4 days later. Rhino Seeds were quick and easy enough to use plus they sent me an extra Super Iced Grapefruit seed to sweeten the deal, so no complaints. I decided to grow just one of these plants to begin with to test out the strain and get used to a new grow room. These types of Indica dominant strains are typically easier to grow so if you’re a beginner, this may be a good place to start.
Grow
The seed germinated within 2 days and sprouted within 4, I grew it in a one plant grow tent in soil under a 250watt HPS bulb. I found the SIG to be a relatively fast growing strain, medium in height and reacted well to Low Stress Training and FIMing. The plant overall did not need a lot of attention and I would advise using the minimum amount of nutrients. I made this mistake over doing it in the beginning and by week 5 and 6 she was showing slight signs of nutrient burn, as you can see from the brown leaf tips in some of the pictures.
Flower
As advertised by Feminized Seeds Company the “SIG” took between 8-9 weeks to flower. I harvested mine in week 9 of flowering getting just over 2Oz which off a relatively small plant is quite impressive. The dense frosty buds on the 4 main colas made up the majority of this but the sheer amount of bud sites produced in a small grow environment was a nice surprise. I’d recommend this strain to the indoor grower who wants an easy to grow high yield strain that can be restricted to small spaces.
Buds and Smoke
The buds on this thing are exquisite a dense mix of purple, orange and dark green frosted with white crystals. It didn’t smell much whilst growing but after drying and curing the musky skunk smell came out beautifully. You can really taste the Skunk No1 genetics in this strain and compliments the hint of citrusy grapefruit nicely. The flavour was light and produced a smooth smoke on both inhale and exhale. It was not quite the mouth-watering grapefruit taste that you get from some other grapefruit strains but it’s definitely worth ago. If you want something a bit different especially if you’re new to growing then this is a good choice.
Effects
This is not a weed you can use all day so I’d suggest getting your chores done before going anywhere near this stuff. With a strong head and body high that’ll give you couch lock for hours use with care. The numbing qualities of the strain are also good for pain relief and other ailments. Definitely a night time smoke something tasty to send you off to sleep.
Overall
Fast growing high yield strain for beginners and connoisseurs alike. If you’re an indoor grower with limited space and looking for a nice flavour with a heavy hitting knock out effect this strain is well worth considering. You will have to excuse the lack of pictures as this is my first review I was a little unprepared but I’ll make sure I’ve got plenty for future grows and reviews.
